ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — Today, Palm Springs Councilmember and Democratic State Assembly candidate Christy Holstege issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s planned visit to right outside District 47.

“As Donald Trump brings his divisive politics to the Coachella Valley, voters deserve to know where every candidate stands. While my opponent tries to present himself as a moderate, he remains silent on Trump’s attacks on democracy, personal freedoms— and even his attacks on the State of California.

As ballots arrive in mailboxes, we are reminded of the importance of electing leaders who stand up for the values that truly represent our community. Trump’s agenda— one that undermines democracy, attacks personal freedoms, and spreads hate— is completely out of step with what the people of this district deserve.”

Former President Donald Trump has planned a visit to the region for this coming Saturday, October 12. Assembly District 47 Republican candidate Greg Wallis has endorsed Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco, known for extremist MAGA views, for California Governor and is yet to comment on Trump's visit to the region.
