The Palm Springs Councilmember continues to outraise her GOP opponent and build a broad coalition of state and local support
ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA —
Christy Holstege emerges as a formidable force in the race for Assembly District 47 as leading Democratic figures rally behind her campaign ahead of the March primary. Governor Gavin Newsom, Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and a host of other influential leaders have endorsed Holstege, recognizing her as the clear choice to represent the interests of the Coachella Valley and IE in Sacramento. Bolstered by a robust fundraising effort that outpaces her GOP opponent, Holstege continues to demonstrate her ability to unite a diverse coalition of state and local support, positioning herself as a dynamic candidate poised for success in the upcoming election.
"Christy Holstege embodies the qualities we need in our leaders—dedication, compassion, and a commitment to advancing policies that truly serve the people,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “I am confident that she will be a powerful advocate for the 47th Assembly District, working tirelessly to create positive change for California residents."
"Christy Holstege's ability to find common ground with colleagues on both sides of the aisle makes her a highly effective public servant,” said California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. “She knows how to get things done. We need her voice in Sacramento, helping find pragmatic solutions to the problems affecting every Californian, from addressing extreme weather to investing in local infrastructure. I know she will be a strong advocate for her constituents, and that her commitment to bipartisan cooperation will get results in the State Assembly."
“Christy is an experienced leader, a public servant, and a dedicated champion on the issues that matter most,” said Congressmember Raul Ruiz. “She fights for everyone, including underserved communities across our region. She has been and will continue to be a partner to connect local, state, and federal resources to help improve the lives of the people we serve.”
“Christy Holstege is an experienced and accomplished local leader who will be effective for her district and a real force for good in Sacramento,” said Congressmember Mark Takano. “Christy is the right choice for State Assembly, and I’m proud to join with leaders throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in supporting her campaign.”
Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support. Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. The district boasts a solid 6.4% Democratic voter registration advantage, a figure that's projected to swell to an imposing 10-12% by the time November 2024 rolls around.
