ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — The Christy Holstege for Assembly campaign was honored today to receive the endorsement of Palm Springs Professional Firefighters Local 3601, who represent the four engine companies, one truck company, and the Battalion Chief who stand guard serving the residents of Palm Springs 24 hours a day.

“I’m honored to receive the support of our Palm Springs Firefighters,” said Holstege. “I’ve been proud of the work we’ve been able to do together to ensure that our firefighters have the resources they need, like reopening a fire station and hiring more firefighters. I’m enormously grateful for the selfless service that they provide our community day in and day out, especially during the recent flooding and wildfires. In the Assembly, I will continue to fight for firefighters of Local 3601, all of our public safety professionals, and for the public safety of this region.”

In speaking about Holstege’s tenure as Mayor and City Councilmember, Brandon Battaglia, President of Palm Springs Professional Firefighters Local 3601 said, “We’ve always had a great relationship with Christy. She understands the needs of our units and has worked hard to deliver for us. We’re proud to stand with her in this race for Assembly.” 

The announcement comes on the heels of endorsements from Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, and the California Democratic Party. The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support.
