ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA —
In a significant show of support, Christy Holstege's campaign for State Assembly is proud to announce the endorsement of Betty Yee, a longtime California leader who served Californians on the Board of Equalization and as State Controller. Yee joins a growing list of state leaders backing Christy, including Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas.
"I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of Betty Yee,"
said Christy Holstege. "Betty has been a trailblazer in showing what competent, accountable government can achieve, particularly in holding corporations accountable and fighting discrimination. I am eager to bring that same smart governance to Sacramento, where we will tackle the affordability crisis and ensure that our community thrives."
Betty Yee's career has been defined by her dedication to accountability and transparency in government. On the Board of Equalization, she fought discrimination and held corporations accountable. As State Controller, she demonstrated the power of competent governance. Similarly, during her time on the Palm Springs City Council, Christy secured $10 million for homelessness and housing services, approved the first affordable housing project in a decade, protected marginalized communities, and made city government more transparent.
The campaign has garnered a formidable coalition of support, including endorsements from top-tier leaders such as Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. This impressive lineup also features backing from the California Labor Federation and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest, highlighting key advocacy support. Additionally, the campaign is proud to be endorsed by the California Democratic Party, the California Nurses Association, and the United Farm Workers. This broad-based support reflects a powerful alliance across various sectors, demonstrating widespread confidence in the campaign's mission and vision for a better California.
