ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — The Christy Holstege for Assembly campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of CAL FIRE Local 2881, the union that works to represent and protect the interest of CAL FIRE employees. CAL FIRE is the largest all-risk fire department in California, and CAL FIRE Local 2881 is the largest International Association of Fire Fighters local in the United States 

“I am honored to have the full support of our state firefighters,” said Christy Holstege. “The men and women of CAL FIRE put their lives on the line, often leaving home and family for weeks at a time during fire season, to protect millions of the lives and property of everyday Californians — that’s why it's so crucial they are supported. In Sacramento, I will continue the work we’ve started here in Palm Springs to ensure safe working conditions, fair wages and provide the resources CAL FIRE needs to keep our communities safe.”

The announcement comes on the heels of endorsements from Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, and the California Democratic Party. The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support.
