ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA —
Today, Voices for Progress (V4P), a leading national organization focused on advancing forward-thinking policies, announced their endorsement of Christy Holstege for California’s 47th State Assembly District. V4P’s California political program works to expand and strengthen the coalition of lawmakers committed to protecting the environment, workers’ rights, and fair elections.
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of Voices for Progress,” said Christy Holstege. “Their commitment to advancing environmental protections, ensuring fair representation, and championing workers' rights aligns perfectly with my vision for California’s future. In the Assembly, I will fight to prioritize people over profits, protect our environment, and ensure strong support for working families.”
Since its launch in 2015, V4P’s California-focused work has helped enact critical legislation, including the “Buy Clean” law to curb climate emissions, landmark campaign finance disclosure laws, and key reforms in workers’ rights and justice. V4P has also been instrumental in advancing paid leave protections and ensuring safe working conditions for California workers.
With the endorsement of Voices for Progress, Holstege gains the support of a nationally recognized organization as she campaigns to represent the diverse communities of District 47. Holstege’s proven record of fighting for economic fairness, reproductive rights, and environmental sustainability makes her a strong partner for V4P’s mission to build a fairer, more equitable California.
The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. The district boasts a solid 6.4% Democratic voter registration advantage, a figure that's projected to swell to an imposing 10-12% by the time November 2024 rolls around.
