“Fentanyl overdose deaths are a crisis that demand urgency and attention.”

-CHRISTY HOLSTEGE

CHRISTY HOLSTEGE understands that the fentanyl epidemic is a crisis that requires urgency in order to save lives and keep our children and neighbors safe. As a local Councilmember, Christy has worked with law enforcement to get drugs off the street and partnered with nonprofits and public agencies to help educate communities.

In the State Assembly, Christy will work to:

  • Toughen penalties against fentanyl dealers and traffickers.
  • Expand public education campaigns to warn of fentanyl’s deadly consequences.
  • Improve access to Naloxone and other life-saving medicines.

As a City Councilmember, CHRISTY HOLSTEGE helped negotiate a deal in which all funds from settlements with drug manufacturers due to the opioid crisis will be spent locally to help get fentanyl and other dangerous drugs out of our communities.

In the State Assembly, Christy will continue her leadership in the fight against fentanyl. She’ll work closely with law enforcement and public health experts to craft policies that save lives and stop this deadly drug from infiltrating our communities.
