ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA —
Christy Holstege, the Democratic Party candidate for Assembly District 47,
reported $851,511 raised to date, over $225,000 more than the incumbent. Additionally, the
Holstege campaign reported holding $441,617 in cash-on-hand – $44,000 more than her Republican opponent. The impressive fundraising numbers reflect on-the-ground enthusiasm and excitement for the campaign to elect a Democrat to represent AD47 in the state legislature.
"In 2022, we came close to flipping this district, and I believe we can do it this time,” said Christy Holstege. “We have the chance to create lasting change, to secure resources for healthcare, infrastructure, and affordable housing, to address the rising cost of living, and to build a brighter future for our children and students. Together we can secure this assembly seat — and give our district the representation we deserve.”
“Christy’s not just outpacing her Republican opponent; she's sprinting ahead,” said campaign manager Josh Kilroy. “That’s because in an era of divisive politics, Christy stands out as a unifying force, connecting with voters on a level that transcends traditional California divides.
As the fundraising gap widens, it's not just a numerical advantage; it's a reflection of the trust and confidence the community places in her leadership.”
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of endorsements from Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, and the California Democratic Party. The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support.
