ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — Today, Christy Holstege, a trailblazing civil rights attorney, mother, and former mayor, proudly announces the endorsement of HONOR PAC in her campaign for California State Assembly District 47. Since 2005, HONOR PAC has been a leading force in Latina/o/e LGBTQ+ political action.

“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of HONOR PAC in my campaign for California State Assembly,” said Christy Holstege. “This endorsement is more than a symbol; it is a powerful affirmation of our shared commitment to equality, justice, and progress. HONOR PAC's dedication to giving the Latina/o/e LGBTQ+ movement a voice in government aligns seamlessly with my values and the vision I have for District 47. Together, we will continue to break down barriers, advocate for marginalized communities, and build a future where every Californian can thrive."

As a non-partisan political action committee, HONOR PAC is committed to giving the Latina/o/e LGBTQ+ movement a powerful voice in government. The organization works tirelessly to promote progressive political action and facilitate dialogue on LGBTQ+ and Latina/o/e issues throughout California and beyond. Their endorsement is a testament to Christy’s extensive service on boards dedicated to protecting healthcare for marginalized groups, including Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. Christy's leadership in gender-affirming healthcare initiatives and her early involvement in campaigns against Proposition 8 and Proposition 4 underscore her commitment to the cause.

Christy Holstege's endorsement by HONOR PAC solidifies her position as a champion for LGBTQ+ rights and social justice. As the campaign progresses, she remains dedicated to bringing positive change to District 47 and contributing to the well-being of all Californians.

Today’s announcement comes on the heels of endorsements from Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, and the California Democratic Party. The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support.
