Holstege’s record for working people earns support of International Longshore & Warehouse Union Southern California District Council

ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — The Christy Holstege for State Assembly campaign proudly announces the endorsement of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union Southern California District Council (ILWU SCDC).

"I am really proud to earn the endorsement of another esteemed Labor Union, ILWU SCDC," said Christy Holstege. "I am ready to work together in Sacramento to help build an economy that works for everyone. That means making sure we are protecting workers, addressing the rising cost of living, and supporting sustainable economic development that benefits working families and businesses alike.”

Christy Holstege, a civil rights attorney, community leader, and former Mayor of Palm Springs, has consistently championed policies prioritizing working families' well-being. As Mayor, Holstege enacted robust worker protections, allocated millions for small business pandemic relief, and implemented hero pay for essential workers.

The announcement comes on the heels of endorsements from Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, and the California Democratic Party. The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. Christy’s campaign continues to out-raise and out-work her Republican opponent, garnering high-profile endorsements and significant local grassroots support.
