ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA —
The Christy Holstege campaign proudly announces the endorsement of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD). This endorsement adds another respected healthcare union to the growing list of supporters for Christy Holstege’s run for State Assembly, underscoring her commitment to high-quality, affordable, and safe healthcare for all Californians.
"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists,"
said Christy Holstege.
"In Sacramento, I will champion policies that ensure every Californian has access to top-notch healthcare. I look forward to working with UAPD to give healthcare professionals a voice in shaping our state's healthcare system and guaranteeing they have the resources and respect they deserve."
The Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) is dedicated to ensuring that healthcare professionals have a powerful voice in decisions affecting their work and patient care. Representing physicians, dentists, and other healthcare practitioners, UAPD advocates for high standards in healthcare and the professional well-being of its members.
As a Councilmember, Christy Holstege spearheaded the allocation of millions of dollars to expand access to regional healthcare services and address social determinants of health. This includes nearly directing nearly $4 million to local healthcare providers, working to address medical care and food deserts, and advocating for equity in healthcare access and outcomes. Christy has also publicly supported initiatives to address physician shortages, healthcare workforce development programs, and the expansion of healthcare education, including the CSU San Bernardino/Palm Desert program. Her leadership and advocacy efforts have consistently focused on improving healthcare services across Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The closely watched seat remains a top pickup priority for California Assembly Democrats after Holstege lost to her GOP opponent by just 85 votes in 2022, in one of the closest races in California legislative history. Incumbent Republican Assemblymember Greg Wallis currently holds one of the most endangered seats in Sacramento. The district boasts a solid 6.4% Democratic voter registration advantage, a figure that's projected to swell to an imposing 10-12% by the time November 2024 rolls around.
