CHRISTY HOLSTEGE

Christy Holstege is a civil rights attorney, businesswoman, mom, local City Councilmember, and former Mayor.

She is also the founder of a legal aid clinic for domestic violence survivors and their children.

During her time on the City Council, she didn't just make promises -- she delivered results. Christy tackled tough issues head-on, securing $10 million for homelessness and housing services, negotiating a deal for $3 million dollars with drug manufacturers due to the opioid crisis to be spent locally with to help get dangerous drugs out of our communities. She led a program which helped successfully place many of the Coachella Valley's chronically homeless

into permanent housing, giving them a path forward out of homelessness. Holstege will work to cut red tape to

ensure everyone has options for safe, stable and desirable housing that is affordable for their income level.

Christy earned her law degree from Stanford Law School and her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara. She lives in Palm Springs with her husband, Adam, their son, Aden, and their dogs, Ollie and Layla.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 Contact: press@christyholstege.com ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 47, CA — Today, Palm Springs Councilmember and Democratic State Assembly candidate Christy Holstege issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s planned visit to right outside District 47. “As Donald Trump brings his divisive politics to the Coachella Valley, voters deserve to know where every candidate stands. While my opponent tries to present himself as a moderate, he remains silent on Trump’s attacks on democracy, personal freedoms— and even his attacks on the State of California. As ballots arrive in mailboxes, we are reminded of the importance of electing leaders who stand up for the values that truly represent our community. Trump’s agenda— one that undermines democracy, attacks personal freedoms, and spreads hate— is completely out of step with what the people of this district deserve.” Former President Donald Trump has planned a visit to the region for this coming Saturday, October 12. Assembly District 47 Republican candidate Greg Wallis has endorsed Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco, known for extremist MAGA views, for California Governor and is yet to comment on Trump's visit to the region.
